Writing Effective Short and Long Descriptions

What This Is

Every product needs two descriptions. Writing them well reduces customer questions and increases bookings.

Short Description

This appears in your product card/listing. Keep it easy to scan. Include:

• Size (e.g. 13' x 13')

• Age guidance or occupancy (e.g. Ages 2–10, up to 6 kids at a time)

• A one-line highlight of what makes it great

These details appear in your product listings (see: How to Add Your First Product)

Long Description

This appears on the individual product page. Give customers everything they need to feel confident booking. Include:

• Setup details — how much space is needed, setup time

• Power requirements — does it need electricity? An extension cord?

• Surface requirements — grass only, concrete OK, indoor use allowed?

• What is included — stakes, blower?

• Any restrictions — weight limit, age limit, no shoes, no silly string

The more clearly you answer these questions, the fewer calls and emails you will get before customers book.

Clear descriptions reduce confusion during checkout and support requests after booking (see: How to Place a Test Booking Before Going Live)
