How to Enable Stripe Auto-Deposit (Automatic Payouts)

What This Is

Stripe Auto-Deposit controls when money from successful customer payments is transferred from your Stripe balance into your connected bank account.

This setting is controlled entirely inside Stripe — not inside BRS.

Some Stripe accounts are set to Manual payouts by default. When this happens, payments successfully process, but the money stays inside the Stripe balance until you manually release it. This is usually the reason behind “my money isn’t auto-depositing.”

To fix this, you need to change your Stripe payout schedule from Manual to Automatic directly in Stripe.

Before changing payout settings, it is a good idea to place a real or test booking first to confirm your Stripe connection is working correctly. (see: How to Place a Test Booking Before Going Live)

Steps

  1. Log into your Stripe Dashboard
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Open Payouts
  4. Find the Payout Schedule section
  5. Change the schedule from Manual to Automatic
  6. Choose your preferred payout frequency:
    • Daily (most common)
    • Weekly
    • Monthly
  7. Confirm your connected bank account is verified
  8. Save your changes

How It Works

When a customer places an order, the payment first goes into your Stripe balance.

If your payout schedule is set to Automatic:

  • Stripe automatically transfers the money to your bank account based on your payout schedule

If your payout schedule is set to Manual:

  • The funds remain inside Stripe until you manually trigger a payout

Example:

  • Customer places an order on Monday
  • Payment successfully processes through Stripe
  • Stripe captures the funds
  • If Auto Payouts are enabled, Stripe automatically sends the money to your bank account according to your payout schedule

Typical Timing

New Stripe accounts usually experience a longer delay before the first payout. In most cases, the first payout takes around 7 business days while Stripe completes initial account review and risk checks.

After the account is established:

  • Most payouts arrive about 2 business days after payment capture
  • Actual bank arrival timing can vary depending on your country and bank

If you are unsure whether Stripe has already sent the payout, check your payout history directly inside Stripe before assuming there is a problem. (see: Checking Your Stripe Payout Status)

Important Notes

BRS cannot:

  • View your Stripe payout settings
  • Change your payout schedule
  • Release payouts manually
  • Speed up Stripe transfers
  • Verify your bank account for you

All payout settings and payout timing are controlled entirely by Stripe.

If Auto Payouts are already enabled and deposits still are not arriving, you must contact Stripe Support directly because BRS has no access to Stripe payout controls or banking systems.
