How Cash, Check, and Custom Payments Work
What This Is
BRS supports non-credit-card payment methods including cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, QuickPay, and other custom options. These require more manual follow-up than credit cards.
How to Enable These Payment Methods
1. Go to Website → Checkout Settings → Payment Configurations
2. Toggle on the payment types you want to accept (Cash, Check, Custom)
3. For Custom, you can enter the name of the method (e.g. Zelle, Venmo)
4. Save your settings

How These Orders Work
• When a customer selects one of these payment methods at checkout, no automatic payment is collected.
• You will need to collect payment yourself — either before or after the event. If you prefer automated payments, consider using a credit card processor (see: How to Connect Stripe or How to Connect Square)
• Once you receive payment, go to the order in BRS and manually mark it as paid.
• You can still send the customer a confirmation and invoice through BRS- invoices process automatically anytime you process a partial or full payment.
Credit Cards vs Manual Payment Methods
• Credit cards: fully automated — deposit collected at checkout, balance charged when you want.
• Cash/check/custom: you manage the entire collection process. More flexibility, less fees, but more work.
